On mysticism and profanity of pilgrimage places

Paul Hugger describes different forms of pilgrimage in Switzerland – sometimes well-known, sometimes surprising. The author himself went on a pilgrimage and documented what he saw and heard. In this book these impressions are rounded off by his deep historical knowledge, whereby closeness and distance, subjective fascination and objective analysis are intermingling. He chose places that are less known but all the unique. He was accompanied by a German speaking and a French speaking photographer, reformed and catholic. Their divergent images make the book a visual experience.
