Georges Descœudres, Prof. Dr. phil.,studied history, art and church history as well as early Christian and medieval archaeology. From 1982–1997 he lectured at the ETH Zurich. After his habilitation in 1995 he worked at the chair of art history and medieval archaeology at the University of Zurich.
